I’m fortunate I don’t often have to work with Verizon support, today was the worst case ever. I’m used to them being bad but eventually being able to solve the problem at hand…but not today.
My client couldn’t find their IP configuration information for their new DSL line, a pretty easy thing to call and inquire about. I called the business support line and about ten minutes later was connected to…residential support. Of course they don’t know jack about my client’s account so they tried to transfer me to business support.
Of course too long later I was once again talking to…residential support. Needless to say I was not happy, one would think a telecom company would know how to route a call. This residential support person said to call back the business support number…the number I called in the first place. I explained this to her, so she offered to transfer me but stay on the line. Another ten minutes later she wasn’t able to reach business support.
So now I’m getting pretty irate because she wants to try another way (I think she’s just making it up) which involves putting me on hold more. Eventually I get transferred to…residential support. Fortunately we found the IP info by then (we did after all have over fourty minutes to find it) and I asked to speak to the complaints department.
After waiting on hold for that…I gave up.
The sad thing is I’ve never waited more than 10 seconds to get an Integra support person on the line and never had a problem that wasn’t immediately solved. Verizon has a lot to learn…
